Ushuaia The Mountain Hotel is one of the best-located places to stay in Arinsal if being close to the slopes is high on your list. Sitting right at the foot of the mountain, it gives you that proper ski-holiday feel from the start, with the Pal Arinsal slopes right on the doorstep and mountain views all around. The style is modern and fresh, but it still feels warm and relaxed rather than trying too hard to be flashy. 

The rooms are a real step up from the standard ski-hotel setup. There are 50 rooms in total, split between Premium Rooms and Junior Suites, and they are noticeably more spacious than average. Premium Rooms offer 38m² of open-plan space, while Junior Suites give you 42m² with a separate bedroom and living area, which makes them a very good fit for couples wanting more comfort or families needing extra room. The hotel also has interconnecting rooms for families on request. 

There is plenty here once the ski day is over too. The buffet restaurant covers breakfast and dinner, while the bar cafeteria and Off Piste Bar give the hotel a more sociable side, with casual food, drinks and a terrace looking towards the slopes. Add in the spa (payable locally), gym, reading room, games room and children’s area, and it feels like more than just a place to sleep between ski days.

Guests tend to like Ushuaia because it combines one of the strongest slope-side positions in Arinsal with larger, more comfortable rooms and a fresher feel than many traditional ski bases. It works well for couples, families and groups of friends alike, especially if you want a hotel that feels lively and stylish without losing that easy mountain-holiday atmosphere. The terrace at the Off Piste Bar is a big plus too, especially for a relaxed drink with the slopes right in front of you. 

Good to know:

The resort centre is around a 10-minute walk away, though the walk back up can feel a touch longer after a night out, so it suits guests who are happy to trade being above the centre for the village for quicker access to the slopes. Room choice is worth checking here, as the Junior Suites give you a separate living area and mountain views, while the Premium Rooms are open plan. Family-friendly options are good too, with interconnecting rooms available on request.
