Nordic Hotel
Resort: El Tarter • Ski Area: Grandvalira
Hotel Nordic is one of the standout places to stay in El Tarter if being right by the slopes matters. It sits at the foot of the ski area, so this is one of the rare hotels in Andorra where ski-in ski-out really does mean what it says. The setting is a big part of the appeal, but so is the look and feel of the hotel, with all the wood, stone and warm mountain style giving it that classic alpine atmosphere people want from a ski base.
The rooms are comfortable, spacious and easy to settle into for a ski week, with around 27m² of space, private balconies, free WiFi, heating, satellite TV, hairdryer and safe included. Most rooms are set up with twin beds, and triple rooms add a sofa bed for a child up to 12 years old. It is a good fit for couples and smaller families, and room choice is worth checking as some look towards El Tarter village while others face the slopes in winter.
The hotel has plenty going on once the skiing stops too. There is a buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner, a lounge bar, comfortable shared lounges, and a games area with bowling that gives it a bit more life in the evenings. On the wellness side, guests have access to the indoor pool, jacuzzi, hammam and gym, with sauna and massages available too, which all adds to that proper holiday feel rather than it being just a place to sleep.
Why guests like it:
Guests tend to like Hotel Nordic because it gives you that proper slopeside feel without losing the comfort of a larger hotel. You can be out on the mountain quickly in the morning, come back easily at the end of the day, and still have plenty of space to relax afterwards, whether that means a swim, a drink in the lounge bar or a game of bowling with the family. It is especially popular with families and guests who want convenience, atmosphere and a true El Tarter ski base.
Good to know:
The indoor pool, jacuzzi, hammam and gym are free for hotel guests, while massage treatments are paid locally. Pool access is managed in timed slots and needs to be booked in advance, and swim caps and sliders/flip flops are required. Triple rooms are designed for two adults and one child, so for three adults or anyone wanting more space, the connected Nordic Apartments are usually the better fit.
