Grau Roig Boutique Hotel & Spa
Resort: Grau Roig • Ski Area: Grandvalira
Hotel Grau Roig Boutique Hotel & Spa is one of the most distinctive ski stays in Andorra. Set right in the Grau Roig sector of Grandvalira, it is a genuine ski-in ski-out hotel where the road effectively ends and the mountain takes over, so it feels quieter, more exclusive and more immersed in the snow than a typical village hotel. With just 42 rooms, it has a much more intimate feel than the bigger resort properties, and the whole place is built around comfort, calm and easy slope access.
The rooms are a big part of the appeal. Each one is individually decorated, but all lean into the same warm mountain style with high-quality materials, a comfortable, cocooning feel and lovely views. Room types range from Authentic and Superior Rooms through to Romantic Rooms, Junior Suites and Suite Deluxe options, so it works well for couples wanting something special as well as families looking for a more luxurious ski base.
Food is another real strength here. There is much more to it than a standard hotel restaurant, with everything from traditional mountain cooking at La Vaquería to cheese-focused dining at La Fromagerie, seasonal cuisine at La Marmita and a more distinctive wine-led experience at The Wine Theater. The Copper Bar adds another layer to the atmosphere, with cocktails, open fireplaces and a lovely place to settle in after skiing.
The wellness area is also a big part of the stay. Hotel guests have free access to the spa circuit, which includes a heated swimming pool, hydro-massage baths, sauna, Turkish bath, relaxation area and gym, all in a stone-and-wood setting that keeps the mountain feel going indoors. It is the sort of hotel where the time after skiing feels just as much part of the holiday as the skiing itself.
Why guests like it:
Guests tend to love Grau Roig because it feels properly special without losing that cosy mountain-hotel feel. You are right on the slopes, the food is a real part of the experience, and the smaller scale gives it a calmer, more personal atmosphere than a lot of five-star hotels. It is especially strong for couples, but it also works well for families thanks to the Kid’s Club and the included childcare service during the winter season.
Good to know:
This is a true ski-in ski-out stay in Grau Roig rather than a village-base hotel, so it is ideal for guests who want to be right on the mountain and do not mind being away from the bars and shops of Soldeu or Pas de la Casa. The spa is free for hotel guests, although from 3pm to 9pm there is no entry for under-16s. The Kid’s Club and winter childcare from 2pm to 10pm are a real plus for families. Times subject to change
